Entropy Table

December 2012

A foyer table made from walnut with maple legs. Inspired by chaos and dedicated to late nights.

This foyer table is about creating organic movement in solid forms. The rippling walnut table surfaces imply a growth and dynamism of the eight maple legs, as if they poked through the table. Where the legs do not protrude through, they pull the surface down to them creating bowls. These elements are functional, but also imply a plasticity in a material that isn't

Keys, loose change, pens, pocket lint, buttons, matchbox cars and paper clips can be thrown into the bowls on the table surface. Purses, dog leashes, coon skin caps and rain jackets can be hung on the upward continuations of the maple legs protruding through the table surface..
